The Vale of Dyffryn Railway is a 2ft narrow gauge railway running down the scenic Dyffryn Valley from Rhiw Junction to Pendyffryn. The first part of the route from Rhiw to Llynfford is flat and heavily forested, though beyond Llynfford the trees thin out and the line starts climbing heavily towards Ty Cribog, the line's summit, before descending towards the pretty village of Pendyffryn. With thanks to fishlipsatwork, who produced the Loveland DEM map on which this route is based, Clam1952 for the track and some of the assorted station buildings, and of course Edh6 for his fantastic freelance locos and rolling stock.
